Google Packs Up...Software

Google Pack Beta,
which was announced during the closing keynote at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on Friday,
packages Google software with other desktop applications, such as Firefox and Adobe Reader.
The pack also features an updating tool called
Google Updater.
There are really mixed feelings about this new product from Google.
I'm personally happy to see Google push great free applications like Mozilla's Firefox and Lavasoft's Ad-Aware.
There are a few other that would be handy, like Spybot Search & Destroy.
I'm also happy to see a free version of Norton Antivirus 2005 dubbed "Special Edition".
All to often many computers run without any anti-virus or anti-adware software. Most tech-savy know that
on just about any windows platform this is a gamble.
The real question is where this software fits into the future of Google.
Analysts are confused, and who can blame them. I have no idea where Google is going with this.
But I am curious to see what the future holds for the little engine that could.
