One update addresses a known issue with Internet Explorer's javaprxy.dll COM object. Code for a working exploit has been released to the internet community for a few months now and Microsoft has finally addressed this issue. Given the severity of this Internet Explorer flaw this author would liked to have seen this patch released in a slightly more timely fashion, like Mozilla Firefox's patch release times.
The second path addressed the Microsoft Color Management Module where an error can occur in validating some formats. This vulnerability was present in Windows 2000 to Windows Server 2003 and even included the currently most popular Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2.
The third patch is for versions of Word in Works Suite 2000 and Office 2000 and newer. Microsoft failed to specifically give details about the flaw, but warns that successful attacks would again lead to a remote attacker gaining control of the target system.
